Happy Thanksgiving!

I know it is a little early for the good wishes but we are heading up to Michigan today...the land where high speed internet does not exist...so I posted this now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembers all that they have to be thankful for!

Seriously needed!

Welcome Peach

We have officially grown to a family of 5 with the addition of Peach to our family. Mike and Briella went and picked him up on Sunday afternoon. Though Peach is a boy, Briella has informed both Mike and I that we are pretending he is a girl.

So far Peach seems to be adjusting quite well to our house. He is using his litter box like a champ which Mike is extremely happy about! He and Bear are still adjusting to each other but have been getting progressively better with each other. Sunday night Peach hissed, arched his back and stuck out his fur looking kind of like a mountain lion when he saw Bear. Bear on the other hand sort of just rolled his eyes at us like what the heck did you bring home now. As of last night though, Peach was no longer hissing when Bear came in the room and was even starting to inch closer and closer to him.

Peach is also starting to get used to the chaos that is Briella. He isn't running scared every time he sees her and even lets her play with him. I am confident that everyone will be the best of friends before too long!

Plays and Movies

We all had quite a busy weekend! Saturday my mom and sisters and I head to Chicago to see Dirty Dancing - The Musical. If you love this movie, which all 4 of us do, then you will love this play. Chicago is the US premiere of the musical and I believe it is running through the end of January. While in Chicago we ate here, here and at a great little Italian place the hotel concierge recommended. We of course did some shopping and I picked up a couple of Christmas presents here and here.
Mike and Briella stayed home together and had quite a busy day as well. They went here to look for a new dishwasher but since they don't do installation ended up getting us one from here. After that they raked leaves, took a nap and went to see Madagascar 2. After the movie, where Briella informed me they had "popcorn with butter but not with sugar because it hurts my lips." they went here for dinner.

We all kept very busy and managed to have very fun weekends!

Bathroom Floor

We are having our bathroom floor redone this weekend and I can't wait! We have never liked the flooring in our bathroom since we moved into the house but never really had a reason to do anything about it. Well now our toilet is leaking which has caused a couple of the tiles around it to come up from the floor. We went to pick out the flooring last night so that was exciting. Unfortunately, since that is our only bathroom Briella and I need to vacate the premises for the weekend. Hopefully I will have some really great pictures to post of our bathroom redo next week!

#66 and #87

Mike and I both voted this morning before work. Despite all of the warnings about long lines we were both able to walk right in and fill out our ballots. Apparently, 632,000 people voted early in Indiana so maybe that helped our cause. Briella is very upset that she can't vote. She just didn't understand why she wasn't old enough to vote for her favorite, Barack Obama. I'm afraid we have a little politico on our hands! Regardless of who you are voting for I hope that everyone who can vote, does vote!

Perhaps....

...some of you saw this little bunny out and about last week.
She certainly made her rounds! We went to Zoo Boo last Sunday, party at daycare and Saint Mary's with Aunt Carly on Wednesday and we went to a few houses on Friday night. She helped Grandpa Buchmann hand out candy for a little bit before he went to the big football game.
Speaking of football, the cavemen lost their 2nd round sectional game to Penn by a score of 17 - 7. Another season in the books! Looking forward to some more family time now that football is over.
