So You Think You Can Dance

This is my favorite summer show! There are so many good dancers and I really like a lot of them but last night Joshua got me. He is a hip hop/breaker guy but had to dance the Samba. I LOVED IT! He is definitely my current favorite!

Potty Shop

Over Father's Day weekend I went up to my parents house with Briella. The drive isn't long...a little over 2 hours...but that can be long for a little one who is pretty newly potty trained. We had to make a stop on the way up because she had to go potty so I stopped at a rest area along the highway. This past weekend Mike and I took Briella to meet my mom, Meagan and Dean in Saugatuck since she is spending the week up in Kent City. She had to go potty again but this time we stopped at a gas station that had a Wendy's in it. When I got Briella out of the care she looked around and proclaimed "Hey...this is not the potty shop!" Not sure where she got that from but it is actually a pretty accurate description of a rest area!

Five Years

Who would have thought on that fateful night 8 years ago at the Linebacker that we would be saying "Happy 5th Anniversary" today? Certainly not me since I lied about my age thinking that I would never see this guy again!

Fast forward through the rest of my junior year and all of my senior year where we spent many a night at The Backer, and skip over the long distance relationship part when I was living in Indy (good thing gas prices were a lot lower then!) to June 21, 2003.

We (or should I say I) had been planning this day for over a year and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our friends and family came from all over the country to share the day with us....Washington, California, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Many people told me that the love we felt that day would never be repeated and they were right.

Not since that single day have ALL of the people who we love and cherish been together with us at the same time. If I could do it all over again I would simply for that reason...to have everyone we love surround us and now of course they would get to see the product of our love in Briella!

Five years later, we have had our ups and downs but I love Mike even more now than I did then. Here's looking forward to many more years together!

Here we go again...

Somebody is coming to look at the house tomorrow morning. We are keeping our fingers crossed and praying to St. Joseph once again!

False Alarm

Despite being pre-approved for financing on our house the buyers were not able to secure it so the deal is off. We are disappointed and sad. Luckily the offer we had made was contingent on the sale of our house. Our house is back on the market if you know anyone interested!

Weekend in Review

It was hot and muggy
Went to several graduation open houses
Multiple trips to the park and splash pad
Got a bunch of storms
Storms led to splashing in mud puddles

New Ride

This is Briella's new preferred way of taking a bike ride. We bought a trailer to attach to Mike's bike last year but she didn't really like it too much. I think it was because she felt like she was too far away from Mike and I. Mike got this seat at Play It Again and so far she LOVES it. It is on my bike and when we go for rides she will pat me on the back and talk to me. Every night she begs us to go for a bike ride. Hopefully pretty soon we can get her riding her own bike!


In other big news, we tried big girl underpants over night last night and she stayed dry. It looks like she is probably done with diapers for good!

We have a house!!!!

After looking at 4 other houses we decided that the one we made the original offer on was the one we really wanted. We made a counter offer to the original counter and found out this morning that it was accepted!! You can check out a few pictures here.

Weekend

Wow...hard to believe it is June already! Mike is officially done with school and started working at the ND golf course today. We are officially going to be homeless as of June 30 (assuming everything goes well with our closing). We made an offer on a house over the weekend but it didn't work out so we are back to the drawing board. Hopefully we will be going through at least one potential house tonight. Its amazing but I feel extremely calm given the fact that we will need to be out of our house in 29 days!

We had a fairly busy weekend with making an offer on a house and then deciding we didn't want to pursue it after the counter, looking at 2 other houses, attempting to enjoy the gorgeous weather and attending 5 graduation open houses yesterday (Briella and I only made it to 3).

We did make it to the splash pad for the first time this year. Briella was still a little timid. I'm not sure what is so intimidating about a sprinkler when she will jump in a pool with no problem. We spent some time at the splash pad and then headed over to the park area. She is a big fan of the swings so we spent quite awhile there before heading home for some BBQ chicken on the grill!
